
Let the cake soak for just a few seconds in the custard mixture to prevent it from breaking up when cooking.
For 4 people:
- 8 slices of Ker Cadélac Pure Butter Madeira Cake
- 50cl milk
- 2 eggs
- 20g sugar
- 500g strawberries
- A few leaves of fresh mint, stalks removed
Preparation:
- Mix the milk, the eggs and the sugar in a bowl to obtain a custard mixture.
- Soak 8 slices of Ker Cadélac Butter Madeira Cake in this mixture.
- In a preheated non-stick frying pan sear the slices of Madeira cake , for 2 minutes on each side.
- Slice the strawberries in half and brown them in a saucepan over a high heat, then lower the heat and allow to soften for a few minutes to obtain a thick coulis.
- Pour a little of the coulis onto each plate (preferably a soup bowl) and then add two slices of French toast style butter Madeira cake.
- Lastly, pour the remaining coulis over the Madeira cake and sprinkle with finely chopped fresh mint.
